SCIENCE, INNOVATIONS, INDUSTRY

On December 15, 2022, CNIC organized a meet-up of innovators, representatives of industry and public institutions at the Bankov Hotel in Košice. Representatives of high-tech companies and the founding members of CNIC accepted the invitation of the Chairman of the Board of CNIC, prof. RNDr. Pavol Miškovský, DrSc. The meet-up aimed at supporting further development of cooperation between the academic and industrial sector.

Pavol Miškovský kicked-off the meeting with a summary of the results of CNIC in the areas of cooperation with the high-tech industry in 2022, a year marked by consolidation of personnel structures, establishment of cooperation with the private sector and drafting the project documentation for the new campus, which is to grow on Medická Street.

The speech of prof. Miškovský was followed by the address of the UVLF Rector, Dr. h. c., prof. MVDr. Jana Mojžišová, PhD., in which she appreciated efforts to improve the socio-economic situation in the region. Due to unavailability of the rectors of UPJŠ and TUKE, assessments of the past year of CNIC’s activities were presented by the Vice-Rector for Development and European Affairs of UPJŠ, prof. MUDr. Pavol Jarčuška, PhD., and the Vice-Rector for Development and External Relations of TUKE, prof. Ing. Jaroslav Porubän, PhD.

The “Science, Innovations, Industry” meet-up was organized as part of the CNIC_START project, for which CNIC received a subsidy from the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. The project aims at effective collaboration between the private and public academic sector so as to increase the competitiveness of CNIC on a national and international scale.
