COLLABORATION BETWEEN CASSOVIA NEW INDUSTRY CLUSTER AND GLOBALLOGIC SLOVAKIA WILL IMPACT THE FUTURE OF KOŠICE AND EASTERN SLOVAKIA

Representatives of Cassovia New Industry Cluster (CNIC) and GlobalLogic Slovakia have officially begun to cooperate on the growth of the East Slovak region.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed today is considered by representatives of both entities as a first significant step in cooperation. Linking the academic and research environment with the commercial sphere will accelerate the social and technological development of the city of Košice and eastern Slovakia.

CNIC was established as a joint project of partners from the private and public sector with the aim of supporting the region with the lowest GDP in the Slovak Republic. Its importance is highlighted by the already established collaborations with major companies, joined today by Globallogic Slovakia.

Our company works with clients that focus on research & development projects. These are beneficial in areas such as development of new medicines, vaccines or even “wearables”, i.e. medical devices worn by patients on their bodies that save their lives. Signing of the memorandum opens up new possibilities for improving this cooperation. CNIC is working on similar research projects in which we see commercial potential in using the results and experience. An important moment will also be a possible placing of the supercomputer in Košice, which will bring additional opportunities for cooperation,” said Štefan Lacko, Head of Delivery of GlobalLogic Slovakia, a company operating on the world market.

Collaboration between one of the most important Slovak innovation projects and an international company is based mainly on the of development of scientific cooperation, sharing of scientific and commercial experience, or providing access to scientific and research infrastructure.

“We live in a time that seems to be a turning point for further development of our city, region and entire society. This is due to the rapid development of technologies and their significant impact on society as such. It is a time of exceptional challenges for all of us, both in the field of technology and social sciences. It’s an exciting story and we want to be part of it. I am honored that Globallogic, with which we are signing a Memorandum of Understanding today, will be part of our story and I am convinced that our cooperation will have a significant positive impact on the quality of people’s lives in our city and region,” said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNIC, Prof. RNDr. Pavol Miškovský, DrSc.

Synergy in matters of common interest also consist in sharing know-how, commercial lease of premises and R&D infrastructure, presentation of results of joint research, sharing of contacts, and mutual promotion of activities.
